  1. i would get a AC bomb and run it through your system

I would also use AirVidox ( https://airvidox.com/ ) which is a potent odour eliminator, can get rid of dog smell or tobacco and other nasty niffs, basically you mix the 2 compounds and leave overnight in the car, then air out car totally. many car dealers use it to get rid of smells from used cars.

if you get the fragrance be careful not to spray and sniff.. its very concentrated. so use little bit on car first.

with an android head unit already fitted in the car I am at a loss as to what to do about the redundant roof monitor, its the wide screen type, is it suitable for anything at all?

Would prefer to take it out and put something useful up there instead, any ideas, the car is all dark interior with lounge seats.

i cannot think of anything that could replace it and I guess leaving it there is better than having an imprint in the roof lining.

Unfortunately I am not going to make it now as I had a Mini Stroke this last Sunday evening 18th June and was taken via ambulance to Coventry University Hospital because they have a Stroke Unit there. When you have a Stroke I was told that I must not drive for a month in case of relapse. I lost the power of speech, all my words came out not in the right order ( and no I had not been drinking ). I had a CT brainscan, everything appeared okay. I stayed in overnight and was released on monday morning, power of speach restored. I had to go back on Tuesday morning for another check over and don't have to go back, but I am still not allowed to drive. So sorry I am going to have to miss this get together.

Unless I can help in some way on the day, if someone coud pick me up from Stratford upon Avon south of the river near the Banbury Road. I am disabled and on crutches.

hope you get better soon @Michael Brown

  4. Recently finished a 4 stage detail on the paintwork (i am not a detailer so don't beat me up)

2 x wash with tfr and snow foam jet wash off
Meguiars Clay bar decontimination (Amazing how much comes off)
Meguiars Compound with machine and hand wiped off
Megiuars Polish with machine and hand wiped off
Meguiars Liquid Wax (Polymer wax) sponged on and hand wipe off
    Final buff with sheepskin buffer

took around 8 hours not including roof, that still needs doing as too hot.

arms like popeye now. But wow, the car looks sooo deep black now and had loads of comments from passers by

  5. Transmission Fluid Change for the 3.5 V6 (Not 2.4) ANH20 Alphard / Vellfire uses ATF WS and has been quite hard to get hold of.

I have seen a Toyota Dealer selling it for £25 a litre on amazon, yes you read that right. As its hard to get hold of they are making the most out of it.

I have just bought 7 litres for my Series 2 Alphard (bear in mind Alphard 1st series uses different fluid!!!)

    https://lexuspartsdirect.co.uk/product/lexus-genuine-ws-atf-fluid-1l/

Lexus Parts Direct sell it for just over £10 a litre with a few quid delivery. A pound cheaper that Toyota Parts Direct. lol

Sometimes this does go on back order as there is a shortage ( an additive shortage)  so get some now or put yourself on back order if they run out. Other prices i have seen are £15 per litre, so Lexus Parts Direct have a decent price.

  6. adrian flux £365 for the ANH20... 1st series they can be quite competitive, not so much for the 2nd series, it first came back at 700. But i told them that is unrealistic and the lady went off to get a better price and came back at 365 with a 400 excess... was 500 but negotiated that down. Excess is a bit higher than i normally have it so took out excess protect to pay the excess.

Hi Chris. Yes it is. I haven't advertised it anywhere, as I don't really want it to go because I love it so much. It just doesn't make any sense to keep it, so I'm quite torn. I'll put some photos up on the web shortly and send you a link.

    Cheers,

    Mark.

Upload some photos Mark, when replyig to a post you will see a paperclip icon, hit that and load up a few pics. may help your sale.

    Good luck

  8. Howdy folks!

It's time we start planning for another large club meet up. If any of you remember our inaugural meet last year we had a cool convoy and over 60 Alphards & Vellfires turned up to our really successful meet at the British Motor Museum.

This year we are going to attempt a much larger event and would be a good idea to get some ideas on Venues ideally mid country like midlands area. Does anyone have any good suggestions of location that can handle (and accept of course) over 100 vehicles?

For me I will stick down the British Motor Museum but will list any other suggestions here for everyone to have a bit of a vote. Also if anyone would like to help us then send me a message.

    1. British Motor Museum (Gaydon)

    2. Castle Coombe

    3. Bank House Farm Camping Site (Suggested by John L)

We were also thinging of a bring your own picnic style meet where we can join in and make friends with fellow members. It was suggested at the last meet that this would be a great idea.

Let's get the ball rolling, please have your say and leave a comment below.
