Hi there I own a Alphard 2.4 2002 model. I am trying to get the NOx reading in order to qualify for ULEZ. Please can someone help me with this.

Thanks

Hello,

Welcome to the Forum.

I have a 2006 V6, and, according to TfL, it is compliant with ULEZ.

Their web site informs me the vehicle is only liable for congestion charge.

So, I guess it is worth checking on the TfL website.

Strange I just checked I can not as I get charged I can go Central Birmingham without being charged

Hi Picasso,

Yes. VERY Strange. I have a V6. 2006.

To be honest, despite what the TfL website states, I have not been into London yet, but I do have relatives there so, sooner or later, I'll find out for sure !

If I do get charged, based on the website info, I will be having a discussion with TfL !

I did receive an email response from a dealer, in the Midlands, who advertised a vehicle that was ULEZ compliant that I thought would be chargeable.

I don't remember the year !

He assured me he frequently drove into London without charge.

Seems very inconsistent.

Did you get charged, or is it 'just' the website saying you will ?

Website says you will be charged the dealer who I bought my alphard off in the Midlands based in dudley said I will be OK in Birmingham but not London

Also my dealer said late 2006 onwards are only ulez friendly

Hi Picasso,

I am confused ! What is ULEZ friendly ?

Surely a vehicle is chargeable, or it isn't !

Ultra low emissions zone alphards 2006 on wards are low emissions so a lot of towns now have low emissions zones such as London when I put my registration in says I have to pay £15 to enter where if I go birmingham , bath or Southampton I don't have to pay london uses a different system

Thanks Picasso,

I have learnt a lot from this.

I had no idea some cities, other than London, had introduced ULEZ zones !

Confusing or what if different cities have different requirements.

What a nightmare.

When approaching these other cities, presumably, these ULEX zones are clearly identified !

Well Birmingham there are signs at end of roads saying your approaching low emissions zone to be honest nightmare in Birmingham easy to miss these signs if you have a tomtom satnav you can add them to your points of interest so sat nav will warn you in advance

I just did ! Surprising result.

First, thank you, Picasso,  for bringing this to my attention.

I was unaware of this initiative in these 'zones'.

But I am even more confused now.

You have a 2007, 2.4L; I have a 2006 3L.

My search came back with NO CHARGE, in all of the zones ! ! !

Obviously that could (will) change.

If I were you, I wouldn't believe me, so I'll send you my Registration number by PM, and you can check for yourself.

Mystifying !

Hi Kahar, how did you get on with this? I just tried to dispute my ULEZ status via. TfL's third party (Euro Parking Collection) and submitted my MOT emissions results as evidence but they only included fast idle tests for CO, HC and Lambda and natural idle test for CO. I was rejected. Any help would be much appreciated!

Thanks,

Oli
