Colin Munro Posted November 20, 2021 Posted November 20, 2021 Were planning on purchasing a private number plate when we get our converted Toyota Alphard. As the Japanese plates are a different shape from standard British one, does anyone know the exact size I need to order?
Rojie Posted November 20, 2021 Posted November 20, 2021 (edited) Hi Colin, welcome to this Forum. Are they different ? I'll measure my plates tomorrow, and let you know. Remember you cannot assign a vanity plate (year) that is newer than the year of the vehicle. I am assuming here, that DVLA will regard the year of manufacture as the key date; not the year the vehicle was imported. So 2005 in your case; but worth a quick check with DVLA if you haven't bought the vanity plate yet. Edited November 20, 2021 by Rojie Addition
Rojie Posted November 21, 2021 Posted November 21, 2021 Hi Colin, My plates are 33cm wide by 18cm tall, including the GB notation. For some reason my rear plates are bolted on; not the usual UK plastic fixings. (I didn't check the front). Maybe because the holes are for Japanese plates.
Colin Munro Posted November 21, 2021 Author Posted November 21, 2021 Ok. Thank you for the information
