Heather755 Posted May 11, 2022 Posted May 11, 2022 Hello. I have an issue with a 3.0 Alphard 2007 plate. Gearbox was leaking fluid but stopped vehicle before it emptied, so not ran dry. Local garage advised auto transmission fluid pipe had burst and replaced it and refilled with new fluid. Advises that vehicle requires new gearbox as it is only engaging in Drive and there is no other gears, including reverse. Anyone have any experience of this and any idea if there is alternative checks that can be done before committing to a new gearbox as this is a massive expense. Any help would be appreciated.
Rojie Posted May 11, 2022 Posted May 11, 2022 Hello Heather, Welcome to the Forum. Do you mean you cannot shift the gear shift except into the drive position, and then there is no movement of the vehicle. This might be one for picasso Please send him a PM if he doesn't reply to this thread. 1
Picasso Posted May 11, 2022 Posted May 11, 2022 If gearbox has not been filled with correct oil this will cause gear change problems also if not filled the correct amount . There is also solenoids in where the filter is if these are faulty this can cause problems . 1 1
