Hello,

Is it possible to switch the language to English on the head unit (NH3N-W57) for a 2006 (05 plate) Alphard. Fresh import from Japan.

I've been all over the unit with Google translate but can't find anything for language so wondering if it's even possible?

If it's not possible what options are there for an upgrade to English language and UK maps installed. It looks like the GPS is stuck at the last known location off the coast of Japan currently!

P.S - where would I find a set of locking wheel nuts for this model as well? 19in alloys.

Thank you

Hello J88J,

Welcome to the Forum.

Welcome to Alphard ownership.

I expect you will get several replies.

It is very unlikely you can change the headunit language.

The GPS will not work. The Japanese system is different to the UK one.

The radio is unlikely to work either. Different frequencies !

Try searching for Head Unit replacement, or Radio replacement, on this Forum.

There are several headunits, and companies that fit them.

Just be careful you don't lose the steering controls or cameras (if you have them).

McGuard will probably be able to supply locking wheel nuts.

Ensure the nuts have the correct profile for the wheels you have fitted.

Thank you for tye reply.

I thought as much with the GPS and not being able to switch the language. I will have a look at the aftermarket options available.

Radio is definitely working though.

I will check out mcgard for thee wheel nuts as well.

Cheers

If it is the OEM radio, you will be very lucky to receive anything other than radio 2.

(Which is OK for many of us!)

Ok that's interesting, it's definitely got at least one station but I haven't tried to change it yet
