Hi Anyone recommend the best solution to a bed and comfortable sleep in a rear conversion Alphard.

Air beds etc. Best makes, models.

Looking for the best solution any of you may have for a newbie.

Thanks

Mark

I have a rear conversion and found 2 medical wedge shaped pillows fit perfectly on the seats and create a very flat bed. With those and a self inflating camping mat (Berghaus) ontop, I don't notice any undulations. They're not the cheapest, at £24.95 each, but I think they're definitely worth it! Look on Amazon for : Waterproof Acid Reflux Flex Foam Large Wedge Support Sleeping Tilter Pillow-White(71cmx60cmx14cm)

I also bought some laundry bags to store them in and they're a perfect size to get both pillows in when turned 180 degrees to each other (being wedge shaped), Amazon: VIROSA EXTRA LARGE Strong and Durable Laundry Bags | PACK of 5 | 80cm x 60cm

Which type of seats do you have in the middle ?

I have the standard 2 + 1 split which both swivel 180 degrees and go flat against the bench seats like the attached photo

I thought as much.

Looks great, very functional.

I have Captains seats in the middle, they don't swivel and have a more pronounced V.

Of course, they provide a twin single bed configuration; which suits us fine (but the dog isn't too keen).

So, I am very interested in this solution.

Hi I have exactly your set up Paul and have viewed the items you stated on Amazon. Out of interest you have got a pic with the wedge space pillows in situ have you. Thanks for advice.

Hi Mark, Here's some photos showing the wedge pillows in place, self inflating camping mat on top, plus the laundry bag which fit the wedge pillows perfectly. Note, you'll see a gap between the thick end of the wedge and the seat back, we sleep with our heads at the back end, it's only our legs lying on that bit, so very little weight pressing down and with a good self inflating camping mat on top it feels pretty flat to me, and believe me, I'm a fussy sleeper! Just for your reference, I'm 6'1".

Morning Paul, So very grateful for this info. Thanks for taking the time out to show me this. I pick up my Alphard next week and will look to replicate this set up.

Will update you on how we get on in the future. All the best Mark
