Pritch Posted July 12, 2022 Posted July 12, 2022 Hi Guys, Im looking to be able to disable the front footwell lights when the side door is open. Ive looked at trying to remove the bulbs, but they look permanantly fixed to the wire ? We are trying to journey off grid, but feel the lights are draining the Leisure Battery. Anyone any ideas.... TIA
Chris.ac Posted July 13, 2022 Posted July 13, 2022 Not sure if same as 20 series, but, on my older Regius, you could undo the single bolt on the door plunger switch which turned on the courtesy lights (and the door open chimes) the bolt is what made the ground connection, so the door is not detected as open 1
Pritch Posted July 16, 2022 Author Posted July 16, 2022 Thanks Chris, managed to locate the same 'plunger' and have now disconnected, so lights no longer activate when door opens. Thinking this will save a lot of unnecessary draining of the battery. Thanks 1
Robertdhowell Posted July 10, 2023 Posted July 10, 2023 Hi there, we've got the same issue. Could you give me a clue as to which bold I need to undo? I can't work it out
Rojie Posted July 10, 2023 Posted July 10, 2023 You could fit a battery isolation switch; will kill any current; even the cooler if you have one ! Silly idea perhaps. or, have a larger battery fitted.
Philllx Posted July 18, 2023 Posted July 18, 2023 Will they turn off after a certain time after the door being opened, not tried it myself but interested too see as where looking too camp in ours soon.
Robertdhowell Posted July 31, 2023 Posted July 31, 2023 Hi there, I sorted this with the help of a fantastic engineer at Campervan co in Denny. The lights I was concerned about are in the front doors at the botton. I think these were an option or just fitted to some models as on others they are red reflecters. He simply removed the covers and disconnected them. Easypeazy. We will soon be upgrading to an AH20. I don't think it's an issue there but we'll see. 😀
