2007 Model. Power boot

Recommended Posts

Hi all. Anyone know if the powered tailgate is a close function only? Mine has it but the keys don't have the boot open button and it just seems to latch open as any tailgate would. But will close via the button on the inner tailgate. Is the close function only correct or have I been given a duplicate set of programmed keys (which work fine for locks abd remote doors) and it should open electrically as well?

Thanks in the hope of someone knowing!

Thanks again. Have attached the keys I have. It wasn't sold as having keyless but I'm guessing from the button on the door handle it does? Is that a right guess do you know?

Cheers

I have a 2009 which has remote boot. It will close electrically in the car, with the keyfob and with the button on the boot, but will only open electronically with the keyfob or in the car, which is strange in itself but normal. I don't know why they did not wire up the handle as they did with the rear sliding doors.

This is my keyfob. You can get them cheap on Aliexpress and code them, but not sure how. I am sure there is a post on here to tell you somewhere.

Thanks to all and drahpla on this. Smart key obtained and getting programmed this week.

However, do have an issue whereby the power boot doesn't like closing. Will start but it's like a sensor is picking up an obstruction and it opens up again.  No real pattern to it. Can go down an inch and back up, or can go 30% down then back up.  Makes no difference if pressing the tailgate button briefly or longer. Same thing if using the button on the dash. It's probably closed properly 3 times out of 20 tries.

It opens fine from the dash button.

Is there a reset or calibration process for the power boot like for the windows or any ideas?

Thanks.

Hi. I am a bit late to this, but can I ask where you got the smart key and programming? I have the same key and button on my driver's door and tailgate on my 2008 series 10. I am not actually sure if my tailgate is auto as there appears to be no button in the car for this, and I do not have the fob. I'm based in Glasgow. Any guidance would be great. Seems quite a few owners have a similar issue - a mysterious black button but no fob.
