Spare ignition key

Recommended Posts

Hi when I bought my vehicle it only had on ignition key and two smart door lock fobs ( thanks to a member on here he gave great instructions on how to program them)  ..I bought a key on line and it was cut using a photo I took and submitted  of my original key-     When received to day ,it opens the doors manually and when inserted into the ignition it turns all the systems on but the engine wont start  ?    inserted my original key and engine starts first time.   Can anyone shed any light on why the replacement key doesn't work ( its a key only no circuit board inner)

Common problem.

I suspect the immobilser chip has not been programmed.

The correct keys are sold on ebay with the correct frequency for the immobiliser.

There is a thread (at least one) on here where I have shown the correct unit (which you may already have).

I'll try and find it again for you.
