Battery had died on my Velfire, took it out to charge but then boot got locked.

I can open other doors with key but other issue is that I have a bed loaded at the back, so can't access battery area from side doors. Really need to open the boot door somehow. Would be grateful for any advice.

I suppose you cannot access the lock panel cover, if bed in way?

Hi Chris,

Thanks for this.

Does you answer apply to Gen 1 as well ?

no, gen 1 is a single panel, and because it's held by two screws on lower rim is not possible to remove without damage, whilst door closed.

20 series has 4 removable panels to access the bulbs and lock

Regarding The Gen 1.

Cuttothechase on youtube has a fix for early Gen 1 machines.

Just remove the negative battery terminal, wait a couple of minutes, and reconnect battery.

Battery does need to fully functional. Boot lock should be reset.

I have not tried this myself. Fortunately, to date, I have not needed to.

let's be thankful is a Toyota, my friends Merc c class is always throwing fits and error messages, latest thing is the reverse cam has stopped functioning, and it has a motorized cover on it so will be probably the cost of a set of tyres to replace
