Today while checking to see if the front passenger seat in my 2003 Alphard was a 'Captains ', (it wasn't), I found that a DVD player had been installed under there, in it was a disc 'Voice Navigation System Japan ', the player itself has no operating controls other than to put in or eject a disc, question, does anyone on the Forum know if this is a standard bit of kit or not?.

Yes, I have the same but I took out the Toyota HU for some something in English but it doesn't connect to the old DVD box under the pass seat. The DVD player is just dead weight and waiting for me to remove it.

I replaced mine with an Apple TV 4 which I wired up to run on 12 volts. Used an HDMI adapter to get back to Component and it runs like a treat.

When working for toyota manufacturing plant the avensis had a DVD player jusr

Sorry didn’t finish
