I noticed that Vellfires either have this

Or this

Am I right in assuming the First one is the standard.

Is the second one aftermarket or an optional extra?

In Japan there are two main distributors.

For product differentiation; they tend to fit different body panels and trim.

Having said that, there are aftermarket panels available.

The same is true for Alphards too.

That's the one. Is it done by Toyota or aftermarket?

You can find parts in Japan and Malaysia.

I honestly don't know if Toyota sold some directly with a Modellista bodykit, I just know some imported Vellfire already got the bodykit, but I don't know if it's genuine or installed by the previous owner.
And you can find toys/reduced models of Vellfires with this kit too.

I have that second style grille without the logo. It’s not aftermarket, it’s a Toyota factory option. The owners’ manual shows images of both styles.

It's interesting when it's the different grille with no badge, as it leaves others wondering what the vehicle is, more so than the one with the badge.

Obviously when the rear Toyota, Alphard, or Vellfire badge is seen it gives it away.

So I wouldn't be surprised if some owners debadge their vehicles to maintain an air of mystery.

I love the Modellista grill. There's another Vellfire near me which has it and it looks really good, but £280+ to buy I think...
