Looking at various awnings and wondering what people's experiences are with air or pole designs and what are some recommendations.

We use the Vango Faros Air awning. It’s quick to put up and take down and you can (in theory) use it without a roof rail being fitted. Lots of discussions on awnings if you do a search on the forum.

Is that Vango Faros Air using straps over the roof and pinned to the ground instead of a rail?

I have used straps with it but iits actually attached to a roof rail in the photo. It worked fine with the straps but when the wind blows the straps tend to ‘twang’ and keep you awake.

What rail system have you opted for?

Standard 2x 1 metre length ‘c’ rails, glued not screwed. 

Thanks Arthur....I've been looking at so many different options and still not knowing what is best. It's good to get opinions and options from people who have these systems fitted rather than trying to read descriptions on what's available.
