Hi- My 2008 Alphard camper has just failed its MoT due to the indicator lights on both side mirrors not working. We purchased the vehicle in august and I don't think the electric mirrors have ever worked- not that that was a problem as they were perfectly adequate due to the size of them anyway. Now that the vehicle has failed its MoT I really want to get this fixed. Thinking it could just be a fuse - is it likely to be the same fuse for the electric mirrors and indicator lights on them? I have looked in the drivers side fuse box but it looks nothing like the layout diagram for that fuse box - any help at all would be appreciated.

It may be worth checking the DVLA Guidance to MOT Testers; just to check that these features are part of the MOT.

Does your vehicle have the usual indicators in the head light and tail light clusters ?

Do they all work ?

It may be worth asking another testing station for their opinion.

I have checked regs for this and since 1986 all vehicles must have side indicators or indicators fitted into the wing mirrors except if the front indicators can be seen from the side - such as a wrap around lens at the front.

any help re the fuses would help.

The image you posted is not the fuse box.

Look up above that, that is the junction box you took a photo of

Hi - thanks for replies. Yes, I found the fuse box in the end. The problem was not the fuse. Apparently after market wing mirrors had been fitted in Japan before vehicle was imported and had never been connected because the plug was not the correct one to fit into the wiring loom. I contacted the company I purchased the vehicle from and asked how it had passed the MOT last March when the side indicators didn’t work? They agreed to pay for ann auto electrition to fix and for MOT retest. So now got it through the MOT but still no electric mirrors as the electrician could not suss out which wires worked all the movements.
