AndyR1983
Hi all, I'm looking at purchasing a 2013 Alphard 2.4 Hybrid 4wd and am just looking for advice about reliability and any potential issues with the Hybrid system (do the battery's die with age or mileage). It has 25k miles and is in great condition from what I can tell. Are parts easy to come by or easy to source from overseas if needs be. I've found a local garage that works on a few of these and are Hybrid specialists which eases some concern so im just wondering if anyone out there is running one of these and what their thoughts are. Brianh
Good day Andy I’m new to the club and have bought a Alphard 2012 hybrid and just getting to know it. I have a garage that is happy to work on it but are unable to connect to the hybrid system they tell me it’s the only make that they have had this problem. So check that your man can. The mileage on yours seems low mine has done 78000 miles. Good to drive once you get use to it. Good luck Brian.

Chris.ac
Official Toyota Techstream software will connect to these vehicles. Do a search on forum, you can get the cable and software for under £50, it runs on a pc/laptop The hybrid system for the 20 series is the same as a 2nd/3rd gen prius, so other than the diagnostics needing to connect via the Japanese protocols (jobd), maintenence and repair is the same reliability. Geofassi
Hi Andy I have a 2006 hybrid and recently had a battery fault and as Brian said some places cannot read the downloads from the Alphard. I found a garage in Cleethorpes who download the info and email it somewhere for the diagnosis, he manage to rectify the problem with mine. If you need it in the future it is William Street Motors Cleethorpes.
