Hi want replace my tyres however finding difficulty in sourcing car tyres as van tyres are only listed. I have been told by my local ATS that they don’t want to fit van’s tyres due to the noise. Can anyone advise thanks Colin

Can't you just order what is listed on the door post? 

 

Or take the code that is on the existing tyres? 

I have fitted Michelin Aglis Crosstracks to my Alphard, which sounds like the same model as yours.It came with cheap Chinese van tyres, and I did not trust them, and the ride was unpleasant. The Michelins are often sold for larger 4x4 cars, so have no problem with the size and weight of the Aphard hybrid, which is after all 4 wheel drive when it puts its mind to it. The particular ones I have are all-season, but then I live up a farm track at 500 feet on a Scottish hill.

And most importantly, the bus drives beautifully, so I am very happy with the tyres.

The thing when buying a bit off the “standard” is to make sure the load rating etc of the things are appropriate, and a good tyre depot should be able to advise and reassure you about your choice. Just don’t expect them to be cheap.

Thank you everyone. My local ATS has managed to souce tyres yesterday and fit them. They are great and brilliant improvement on the handling and ride. Thanks again and happy Alphard driving.

Hi Colin, I have had my front tyres done last year, Avon 205/65R16C,think they cost £120 each from my local garage for last year's MOT and this year replaced the other two with Lassa 205/65R16C cost £110 each. Think these are van tyres and there is no problem with road noise. Hope this is of help.
