I appear to have an oil leak from the top of the engine (v6) i think it is from the front cam cover.   Anybody have experience of replacing this gasket, or any idea of a good place to take it to be repaired in the Dorset area?

hi i had the same problem on my V6, i had oil leaking from front and rear covers. the oil leaked onto the exhaust manifolds. bought the gaskets at my Local toyota dealer. word of Caution, the Lexus RX300 intake gasket does not fit, when i  replaced my gaskets, i replaced the spark plug gaskets and Spark plugs all in one go as it is quite a mission to get to the rear cover. just check if the bolts on the tappet cover is tight, when i started i saw that mine was all loose, hence the Leak.

Oil leak could be signs of a blocked pcv valve. I have a video of this on my channel.  Usually accompanied by crap mpg. Smell of burning oil or petrol fumes in cabin. Takes 15 mins to fit. Costs 20 pounds.

Hii, I know it's an old thread-but...

So I have an obvious leak from the rear bank here. I saw the only video how to take it apart.

Although there are differences between the video (2005) and mine (2004), I managed to rip it all apart down to the last bolt holding intake manifold to the bracket in the back-left (back right was not even there). It's some nightmare, I have 2 fingers clearance between firewall and the bolt.

Any idea of the actual tool/approach?

Even if I manage to undo it I'll never fasten in back to any acceptable value

I've put it back together for now.
