I think, note think, they are incorrect I would ask another MOT station what their view is. OR read the DVLA Guidance for MOT Inspectors yourself. VERY good and comprehensive. If yous tester is wrong, and you can guide them to the relevant clause in the guidance; they should admit their error and pass it. If you know they are wrong and won't reconsider, take it someplace else

What section did you receive a Fail for ? Section 7.8 seems to be the relevant one, as far as I can determine. (I have not read them all !). Possible "Operation Impaired"; but it isn't, is it. There was no mention of the speedo having to read kilometers too ! Try persuasion then go walkies to another station and ask them first before paying any fee !
Gerrymclean Posted June 10, 2023 Author Posted June 10, 2023 Hi Rojie, Long story short the lady I bought it off had new speedo in mph put in. Now the mileage wasn't adjusted properly so odometer reading in miles is 102k but in reality it only has around 75 k on it. Guys that put it in wrote letters to say this but dva didn't care so odo still reading around 32k more than it actually has! Now inspector also failed me on a slightly cracked tyre so I need a retest anyway but I think I will take them to task over the km per hour thing. Thanks for help GERRY
