No easy answer but you could fit a double keder strip into the awning channel and then make up a canvas section to cover the gap..you might even find on the net someone may have already done this....this is why I don't like upright awning brackets,  in my opinion S45 Awnings are not suitable for Alphards

Hi thank you for your comments, the canopy works really well for one or two days but longer we feel we need an awning will work it out some way

Hi, we were told that a side awning wouldn’t work properly because of sliding door, instead we purchased a tailgate awning, works a treat as we have a Slidepod kitchen at the back, where we can cook under cover now.

Hi there, we have the same roll out, (your brackets look the same as ours as well did you go to HL in Liverpool ?).

We have exactly the same problem, tried various 'solutions' including Fiamma rain guard (didnt work).

Only way we have found that 'sort of' works, is we sourced a triangular pool noodle, cut it to the size of the gap.

During the day with the door either closed or open, you can 'wedge' it in the gap and it works very well, but as soon as you open, or close the door, the noodle moves.

Not perfect but best we have found so far...hope that helps.
