Jeanie Posted June 26, 2023 Posted June 26, 2023 Fiamma s45 fitted to Alphard but brackets make it stick away from van because of sliding door have a vango awning that slides in and fits can but the gap between van and awning lets the rain in has anybody got any suggestions how to bridge that gap please
ThuMentaliss Posted June 27, 2023 Posted June 27, 2023 No easy answer but you could fit a double keder strip into the awning channel and then make up a canvas section to cover the gap..you might even find on the net someone may have already done this....this is why I don't like upright awning brackets, in my opinion S45 Awnings are not suitable for Alphards
Jeanie Posted June 29, 2023 Author Posted June 29, 2023 Hi thank you for your comments, the canopy works really well for one or two days but longer we feel we need an awning will work it out some way
Douglas Richmond Posted June 29, 2023 Posted June 29, 2023 Hi, we were told that a side awning wouldn’t work properly because of sliding door, instead we purchased a tailgate awning, works a treat as we have a Slidepod kitchen at the back, where we can cook under cover now. Douglas
Jeanie Posted June 29, 2023 Author Posted June 29, 2023 We already have the canopy and awning and great in good weather just need to bridge the gap between van and canopy fitting multitude of ideas needed for best result in rainy weather 😀

Douglas Hi, do you mind telling me which tailgate awning you bought please?
Pritch Posted July 23, 2023 Posted July 23, 2023 Hi there, we have the same roll out, (your brackets look the same as ours as well did you go to HL in Liverpool ?). We have exactly the same problem, tried various 'solutions' including Fiamma rain guard (didnt work). Only way we have found that 'sort of' works, is we sourced a triangular pool noodle, cut it to the size of the gap. During the day with the door either closed or open, you can 'wedge' it in the gap and it works very well, but as soon as you open, or close the door, the noodle moves. Not perfect but best we have found so far...hope that helps. https://www.tradeinn.com/swiminn/en/leisis-octo-pool-noodle/80949/p?utm_source=google_products&utm_medium=merchant&id_producte=364245&country=uk&gad=1&gclid=Cj0KCQjwn_OlBhDhARIsAG2y6zOLD10Mt5U-az2EDmHr_ddA44H2gfH0P_DbdJDeW6v3LqrDeUDJi1UaAsYZEALw_wcB&gclsrc=aw.ds
