Mike_F Posted June 30, 2023 Posted June 30, 2023 Hello all. We're the very happy owners of a converted Alphard 2008 campervan; we just got it second-hand. The previous owner included suction-cup blinds for some of the windows but (a) they don't cover the windscreen or front passenger/driver windows, and (b) the suction cups have a tendency to fall off during the night, which can be a little annoying. We're looking for a fitted sunshade solution and also a mesh option so we can have the choice to sleep with the windows down but screened to keep bugs out. We had a few questions that we hoped our fellow Alphard people might be able to answer: 1. We've found sunshades and mesh covers on Amazon, but the delivery times are quite long. Ideally we need something by July 6. Are there any shops or specialists in the UK who might have stuff in stock for a faster delivery? 2. Our Alphard is listed on the logbook as manufactured on 1/8/2008 - it doesn't have cruise control as standard but it does have powered doors on both sides. This is the 2008 - 2015 model, right? 3. Any recommendations for screen/curtain/blind solutions that we might not have thought of? Thanks in advance!

Post a photo for confirmation, or provide the model number. 3). I have a Black Out blind which excels for that purpose. It covers the screen, and both front doors. It is robust. It is very easy to fit and remove. It does not have any mesh openings
Mike_F Posted June 30, 2023 Author Posted June 30, 2023 Hi Rojie, thanks for the swift reply! Where would I find the model number for confirmation? "3). I have a Black Out blind which excels for that purpose." - Would you happen to have a link or any info on where I could find this, please?

It forms part of the VIN number. I'll check my purchasing records for the blackout blind. I have it quite a while. Please note. My Alphard is older than yours, so check the suitability for your model.
Mike_F Posted July 4, 2023 Author Posted July 4, 2023 The VIN starts with ANH20 - that's 2008-2011, right? Thanks again for all your help!

Pritch Posted July 23, 2023 Posted July 23, 2023 Mike, we bought these ones, ok not the cheapest, but the front screen you can roll down during the day so light gets it in. Had them for a year, work a treat, in that keeps van cooler when in full sun, and during colder months really helps with condensation. Hope this helps. https://www.comfortzleisure.net/product/toyota-alphard-thermal-windscreen-cover/
