Hi, have just purchased an Alphard 3.0L 2006model. When reverse is selected the passenger door mirror angles towards the floor. However, it does not reset it itself when a forward gear is selected, is this normal?

Hello Darren,

Welcome to the Forum.

I have a 2006 MZ G Edition, top of the line, with most of the gizmos.

I need to discover whether my machine has this option; I don't think it has.

Owning an Alphard is such a voyage of discovery !

I have the feature on another car of mine, and find it immensely useful for reversing alongside curbs.

In my Alphie I use the reversing camera, which, imho, is even more useful.

Do you have a rear camera fitted, with all the coloured boxes ?

I'll check my JPNZ Owners Manual to see if this mirror feature is mentioned.

Hi Rojie

Thanks for responding. We also have the MZ G edition. Collected yesterday so lots to learn. Yes we do have a camera, we actual had a new Kenwood head unit fitted with integrated camera. However at the moment we don’t seam to have any guide lines/boxes. The instructions seam to suggest there should be guide lines? Need to digest the instructions and review the settings. Only have one DAB channel as well. Lots of head scratching at the moment.

The OEM camera set up is adjusted through the OEM head unit.

So you may have lost some functionality with your upgrade.

It is not unusual for upgrades to effect the functionality, especially the steering wheel controls.

I find the lines very helpful, but guess I could do without them if I needed to.

It appears you may need to return the vehicle to the the person who fitted the Kenwood and have them set it up for you.

Happy days, have sorted radio and camera. Just needed to adjust settings. Panic over. Thanks again for your responses.
