Hi,

Researching to buying a 2009 Alphard and wondering if the 18 speaker option is worth waiting or if the standard 6(?) speakers is okay?

I'm not that fussy about the sound as long as its not too tinny sounding. Happy with the sound in my 2011 e class which doesn't have the premium sound system.

Cheers

Hi Daimsky

My Alphard has the premium sound with the extra speakers. It's great when you're watching dvds but I haven't noticed the 'premium' aspect of it when listening to the radio.

My friend has the standard speakers system on his Alphard. There is a difference is sound/quality however you'll only notice it if you compared one to the other 👍🏼

Good luck.. I hope you find one soon. They are great vehicles!

Thanks, thats good to know, think the standard ones will be good enough for me then!

I have the standard system. It sounds great in the front but the back sounds bad. If you get the standard then i suggest an upgrade in the back

Unless a super duper sound system is a make or break decision for purchasing, I think you have other significant issues to decide upon first.

For example, engine size, trim level, colour.

You can always audition systems in your prospective purchases.

You can always upgrade later, albeit probably not to the 18 speaker system

Decided to go for the standard speakers, but agree that's a minor worry compared with everything else. anyway fingers crossed when it arrives in uk!

Local mechanic and undersealing asap are both important first steps.

Are you importing directly from Auction or using UK agents etc. ?

First step will be getting an MOT, then having DVLA register it.

using an agent for those steps, but then want to sort out a service and underseal
