Mrs Carole McAllister Posted September 23, 2023 Posted September 23, 2023 Hi, My 2003 Alphard has suddenly started fashing a red light when it is swtiched off but not when you switch the engine on. It is a car sideways on and to the left of the battery light but flashes of so quickly I can not see more than the outline of a car. Does anyone know what this is please? Thank you
Picasso Posted September 23, 2023 Posted September 23, 2023 Hello Carole are you able to upload a photo
Mrs Carole McAllister Posted September 24, 2023 Author Posted September 24, 2023 Hi Lee, thank you so much for your reply but we have now been told the answer. Apparently it is a light to tell you the security is working. It hasn't come on before but the garage replaced a dead fuse so now it does. OK panic over. 1
Picasso Posted September 24, 2023 Posted September 24, 2023 Yes it's the car immobiliser should carry on flashing till you put the key in the ignition

It is an original feature of the car; so that aspect would have been considered by the designers. However, it is the immobiliser; so you can't immobilise (sorry couldn't resist) it; and shouldn't want to!). The symbol, I believe, is the silhouette of a car in black, with a white key inside.
