Hi we have our door locks set to lock when we reach 10mph, but we have to switch the engine off for the passengers to get in or out.  We have the remote buttons and the extra fob with same symbols on, but we can't get any of those to work. Can anyone help?

They all do that sir ... have you not got a button to unlock on the driver's door ? Next to the one that locks the electric windows ?

Thank you M'am. 😏 We have the remote buttons and the extra fob with same symbols on, but we can't get any of those to work. They just beep.

@kev1839 described a button on the driver's door. It locks/unlocks all the doors. Here's a pic:

This site that Lee recommends is VERY helpful for all Gen 1 owners, especially those with the HDD headunit.

Will try that - thought it was for a window!

Feel a bit of an idiot now - reading it all through again - we realised that what we thought was a lock for windows, was a lock/unlock for doors. Thanks guys.
However our smart key still doesn't get the tailgate to open itself, which we think it should do. It unlocks it, beeps once and that's it.

I don't use my smart key as I have a 2nd security alarm fitted but just tried my smart key if you press and release finger it will beep press but hold your fingers on button for a few seconds it will beep hazzard lights will flash and your tail gate will open . I don't know if you know if you keep the smart remote in your pocket drivers door will unlock when you press black button on the handle

As others have eluded to, you can DIY reprogram the car so that the doors unlock when put into P, rather than having to turn off the ignition.

Mine was like this and was quite infuriating, but I found a post on here somewhere which described the process and sorted it.  Quite a number of steps that have to be done in a specific order, but doable (and does work).

Of course there is also the lock/unlock button on the driver's door 😂
