Hi all, I just purchased an Alphard for my dad from Japan but upon arrival they can’t seem to get the rare screen to open and also they can’t seem to get the middle captain chairs to go back some more

The seats don’t seem to go back more than this, but it reclines

Not sure what you mean here.

Judging from the photo, it seems the trim attached to C pillar would block any further rearward movement. Not sure there's much you can do about that.

Rear screen will be controllable from the headunit, if it's the official Toyota one still fitted.

Not sure those luxury model seats are capable of going further back; check near the rear of the seat for a removable panel, on earlier models a panel hid a lever that allowed the centre seats to be pushed closer together, and allowed them to slide back further avoiding the tyre wells.

But it looks like your seats are unable to be pushed closer due to the pull out table.

The model you got is the SC model. the seats won't go back any further. that's the limit. if you bought the S series the seats can be pushed together and go back further. The S series won't have the auto recline function, it's completely manual. As for the rear screen, just push the button on front of the screen to release the latch and pull down.
