Hi All,

I'm new here. Starting my journey in looking for an 8 seater.

Budget is between £7k and £9k.

Car will be used occasionally to ferry around 8 adults (including the driver). I'm aware the second and third row seats only have a lap belt for the middle passenger.

Looking for a 3 litre (as worried the 2.4 may be underpowered). What should I look out for .......Is it right that this engine has a cam-belt (as oppose to chain) ?

Car must be ULEZ compliant ( as I live in the zone). I believe post 2007 versions are all compliant. Is that right ?

Also recently joined the equivalent Elgrand forum, and just weighing up pros & cons of both models (Elgrand E51 is the one I'm considering)

Looking forward to get to know you all.

Hello Ghazali,

Welcome to the Forum.

Have you taken a look at the For Sale section yet ?

3 litre V6 has a cam belt.

When you have a prospect purchase Enter the registration in the Transport for London website to check the ULEZ status.

Thanks Rojie. Through trial and error I think I have worked out that models post 2006 are likely to me ULEZ compliant.

I will take a look at the sales section.

The 2.4 is absolutely fine and more than enough engine for one of these IMHO.

Don't discount one for what is otherwise the right van.

Hi All,

Went ahead and purchased a new (to me) Vellfire today. Very happy with it. It's a 2.4 engine, 2012 model.

Pic below. A few questions

1, Is there a way to adjust the front parking sensors volume ? I'd like it louder.

2. The A/C temperature up/down button is stiff/sticky when pressing the up button (both driver and passenger side). This maybe due to where the previous owner fitted an aftermarket android head unit. Any ideas on how to get this to stop sticking ?

3. The car has keyless entry and start/stop. Is there any way to de-activate the keyless entry mechanism ?

Thanks all
