Hello Darren,

Welcome to the Forum.

At this time of year you must ensure your starter battery is fully charged at all times.

If you bought the Alphie from a trader, take it back to them and ask for help.

Which button ?

Are you pressing the key fob button, or the button on the dash ?

Ensure the door lock switch on the drivers door is not enabled.

Try to check the cable that operates the door; they are known to need replacing sometimes.

There are members who have changed the cable; try searching for door or sliding door in the search box on your home page.

Do you have smart locks ?

Hi been looking on the forum but can't seem to find anyone got same problem as I've got.

Yes I have the smart lock.

Something new tried to open the door wouldn't open still but when to drive and the back of the sliding door was open abit like I could fit my hands in there.

Hi Darren,

I can't help you myself but there have been several examples of similar problems, sometimes the cable needs lubrication or replacement.

In view of your latest experience, I believe there is a door closure motor, soft close, that may be playing up.

There are also a couple of sensors on the door jamb that may benefit from a gentle clean.

Oh OK I'll get that a go but sorry for all the questions is there a picture of the parts u are saying as this I dnt know what I'm looking at it

Now my electric windows are not working from the drivers door now

This will happen if you disconnect the battery. May effect your moon roof too.

Or you have inadvertently switched the door disable on the driver's door.

Ensure your battery is fully charged.

Your windows can be reset by winding each down, wait 5 secs, and wind up again.

This needs to be done from each door switch; not from the driver's door.

I don't have any photos.

Try searching for soft door closure. I don't even know where the soft door closure motor is ! Sorry.

I'll check my van for the sensors.

OK. Well your enquiry isn't even a day old yet.

Try and be patient until other members offer you opinions and/or assistance.

ps. Check your battery leads and earth leads for loose connections.

Afternoon member I've tested my battery and its reading 14volts but only 12.1 amps so needs to be changed just want to know what battery everyone using with the electric sliding doors.

Do I stick with the standard  flooded battery or go for an efb or agm battery ?

IMHO, you should be OK with a 'normal' starter battery, lead acid.

I have found this to be more than adequate, but keep it fully charge and ensure your room mood lights are off .

I vaguely remember mine being a calcium type lead acid.

You don't have a start stop vehicle so I would have thought a efb unnecessary.

have you got your windows working again yet ?

You could try and contact Japanese MPV specialists in Uxbridge. Ask for Naeem.

I believe they have an associated garage that works on their imports.

They may even have experience of the problem without you even needing to take your vehicle to them.

Picasso provided a part number for a similar problem in the last few days.

Part was about 200 pounds. Not sure if that included the motor !

Good idea to have a look.

Can anyone help a severely disabled pensioner,  I have a Toyota alphard 54 plate. I love my vehicle , but I encountered a problem,  when a passenger get into the front seat and closes the door , the door open alarm goes off for about 5 mins before it stops.

I checked down the side of the door but can't see anything wrong? I push in the door sensor the door alarm goes off, when I let it go it stops. So it seems its working OK.

Can anyone help me how to fix it.
