Tow tow bar fitting

Hi just got an Alphard and loving it but need a towbar can anyone recommend a fitter in central Scotland loads won’t touch an import

Does anyone know for sure if you can fit a towbar to a 2007 2.4 Alphard Hybrid ?

I know it can be done... I helped a pal fit one he had bought. There was a minor hitch during installation, mainly due to lack of easy access and there was a fair amount of effing and blinding but it went on. 

I plan to go to a local supply/fit company locally, either Harrogate Tow Centre or I've been recommended Horsforth Towbars.

I'm trying to identify the exact year to see if I am an early or later year type. I think the car is possibly built before the vague "date" of manufacture.

Does anyone have a formula for working out which year it really was made as opposed to the handy next number available at DVLA

I don't think DVLA behave that way.

 

They do record the date of manufacture as the date first registered in Japan; not quite the same thing.

 

Have you tried CarVX, to see if that yields better information.

 

I think it is the same in the UK.

The DVLA do not know, or care, when the vehicle was made; only when it was first registered.

I want to fit a tow bar to my 2.4 Alphard to pull a SMALL 0.5m3 box trailer. Called three fitters so far.. No success as it doesn't have a plate showing the towing specs so they aren't interested. Looks like either Toyota or DIY.  Thinking on!!!

I’ve also tried to find one locally for my Alphard. I know it can be done, I helped a pal fit one a few years ago but none of my local suppliers are prepared to order one as” it’s not on the list”

A right pain ITA and I’ve almost given up…

Dont give up!! if necessary I will weld one up from angle iron and a ball fitting.  noli illegitimi carborundum!

Toyota don't make them, so don't waste your time with them. The only company left manufacturing them for the Alphard is PCT automotive https://www.pctautomotive.com/towbars
