Mick88 Posted May 17 Posted May 17 Not sure if anyone has experienced this but the other day I tried to connect a couple of different external devices via RCA into the aux VTR input to the left of the rear seat I could not get any video or audio to play - just a blue screen with error code 202. I could find any info on this when searching the internet but I did find a similar issue that had occurred to some Nissan Elgrands (same error code when connecting aux). In that case it was a matter of pressing a button on the remote which doesn't seem to apply here. Has anyone had any luck in using the aux input of the Alphard ? Has anyone come across the error code or a fix for it?

Are you sure it is outputting RCA level analogue signals Presumably that remote is for the source; as it isn't for the head-unit. Are you using the 100v outlets which are switched from the dash ?
Mick88 Posted May 18 Author Posted May 18 Hello Rojie! Thank you for your response! I have used google translate, and the message on the blue screen is saying: “Unable to receive (E202)” I am trying to connect my phone to play music via VTR input on the photo below and “Video” mode.

Does your phone output RCA level analogue signals ? I am not a mobile phone user ! I would check your phone manual to ensure the output you are using is RCA compatible.
PZsurf Posted May 18 Posted May 18 Hi Mick, This won't help you that much, but I do use those connectors to play Spotify through my phone. It's an Android with a 3.5m earphone socket. I have the cinema sound set up and play it through the video channel using a two phonos to a 3.5mm jack plug..sounds amazing so they definitely can work. I'm not sure but they maybe audio only sockets.
Rojie Posted May 19 Posted May 19 Those sockets should take video as well, although I am not sure at what resolution. Again, it will be analogue signals. I had plans to use the sockets but went down the route of an HD Laptop instead (running from a leisure battery). I was surprised when I loaded a Region 2 DVD into the HU (and it played) as I believe the Japanese use NTSC, whereas the UK uses PAL. Quality isn't good, hence the HD PC; and of course the video won't play when on the move (not that I wanted it to) but the sound works fine. Incidentally, the video interlock can be overcome.
