Lights galore!

Hello looking for some advice...2008 Vellfire.
I have no speedo, temp guage or rev counter, odometer stuck, ABS, Power Steering, Airbag and Brake warning lights on...also dash isn't showing headlights are on or cruise control. Van driving normally.....
Took out instrument cluster and the wiring behind doesn't look particularly neat (taped together with tape!)
Any ideas?

Hello Scott,

Welcome to the Forum.

Do you have the original head-unit fitted, or has it been upgraded ?

The mess of wiring sounds like a km to miles converter. These are known to cause all sorts of canbus issues when they fail. It might be possible to just remove it to see if that is the issue. Obviously, without it everything will then measure and record/display KM.

I agree with what Richard said apart from one thing canbus is 2008 onwards 2002 - 2008 is a ckun09 chip if the wires have just been spliced in and taped up this will cause connection problems lots of garages do this and its wrong they should be soldered then taped up . How long you had your alphard did you buy from a garage or private .
