Hi. Mine has never said that, but it is greyed out unlike your pic. The kids have now lost the remote for the monitor 😭😭 which means I can't actually use that function any more. Can't get a replacement for love nor money ( lots of it : they go for nearly £100 ).  But to enable it in the first place, and have that floating icon, is in " video" tab in settings. You have obviously done that. Once I had the icon, I would run a video in the default player, and it works show on the monitor.

I need to borrow someone's original remote to program a learning remote before I can get it all going again.

Hey Zak,

Yet another revival of this gold mine of a thread. Going through the same motions. Are you still happy with this setup? Apart from the remote thing.

Where did you get to with the cameras? I noticed the Ali link mentions 360 cameras can work, wondering how much faith to put in that. And generally this working well long term.

Cheers

@twcut

Have to be careful with AliExpress claims.

Make sure they specify original Toyota 360 degree 4 cameras (which was only 270 degree, 3 cameras before 2012)

And not aftermarket 360 setups.

Sometimes they give an external module that converts the output from the park assist ecu to a composite camera feed.

In reality, if you are going for a Birdseye view 360 setup, you'll be better off with an aftermarket kit due to improvements in resolution and low light imaging.

The claim of 360 working generally means the headunit is fitted with the module, as this is an optional module that the cheaper units sell separate, and it's required to allow the software to load.

Hi, sorry for the late reply. Yes, still really happy with it. Other things have got in the way of me playing about with it. Still got to figure out the rear camera signal. Got lazy because the parking sensors work so well. No idea about 360 : mine never had that capability to begin with.  But as for the head unit, yes, it does what I need, and android auto connecting wirelessly is a boon.

Thanks both! I'm waiting on the head unit to arrive and I'm sure I'll be back in tears shortly
