Hello Calwu,

You and Dan should check your tyre wear.

I have read that uneven tyre wear and/or pressuree can effect the wheel speed sensing on 4wd vehicles.

The tyres should be all of identical size and manufacture; and best to stay with the original tyre / wheel size combination; ie no larger wheels or lowering of the vehicle.

At least it is a place to start your investigation

The Vellfire GGH25 4WD system, often referred to as A.T.C. (Automatic Torque Control) or D.T.C. (Dynamic Torque Control), works by using a combination of electronics and mechanics to distribute power between the front and rear wheels. Essentially, the system monitors driving conditions and automatically engages the rear wheels when needed, according to Autocar and Autocar India.

Here's a more detailed breakdown:
  • Normal Driving:
In standard conditions with good traction, the Vellfire GGH25 is primarily a front-wheel-drive vehicle. The engine's power is channeled through the front wheels via a continuously variable transmission (CVT).

  • 4WD Engagement:
When the system detects a loss of traction, such as on slippery surfaces, during acceleration, or in challenging conditions, the 4WD system kicks in. A motor engages the rear differential, connecting it to the front propeller shaft and allowing the rear wheels to receive power.

  • Torque Distribution:
The A.T.C. or D.T.C. system continuously monitors and adjusts the torque distribution between the front and rear wheels, optimizing traction for various driving conditions. This allows for smooth and confident handling on different terrains.

  • System Features:
The Vellfire GGH25 4WD system is designed to be seamlessly automatic, meaning it requires no driver intervention to activate or deactivate. The system automatically engages and disengages the rear wheels based on the driving situation.
