Hello Members,

After only 4 weeks from the deposit, we collected our beautiful camper from David Westgarth at Milldown Campers in Canterbury, built with love and care onto a 2009 Alphard. We are delighted with every aspect of the vehicle, custom-built to our specifications. We are looking forward to exploring the country and seeing what we can find over the other side of the Channel. Part of the build includes a rail to attach a driveway awning and with so many on the market, I wondered if members could help with suggestions of tried and tested ones which will fit our car.

Hi Dan

Thanks for your post. Great van BTW, love the colour scheme. I'm a newbie on here as of today and have pretty much the same question as you. We have a 2004, 3 litre without a pop top, but it has a rear conversion. It already has an awning rail on the roof above the nearside rear door, so we too are looking for some recommendations for a drive away awning. I will upload a picture of the van in due course. Looking forward to some replies.

We also got our Van from Dave at Milldown this year, agree he has an awesome setup and the quialty of the conversions are top notch.

We purchased a Vango Faros III Air Low and find its a great fit for us. Its big enough for the two of us and fits the length of the van. Being an Airbeam model its very easy to set up and take down, we can get it set up/taken down in about 10 or 15 mins. We went up to attwoolls for the day and had a good look around, they have a good range set up to compare sizes and prices.

The photo is from the first time we pitched it, we have got better at setting it up :)
