Since replacing the speed sensors in the gearbox, the auto changes are not correct, they lag when changing. The gearbox was perfectly fine before. However when the speedo stopped working and engine management light came on, I took it into my local garage. The diagnosed the gearbox speed sensor. Drove home but the the last few hundred yard the gearbox changes started playing up. I didn't won't to drive it like that so I replaced the sensors outside my house. Then the speedo worked engine management light went out but the changes were not smooth.

Does anybody know of a garage near Hemel Hempstead Herts that could scan and carry out a gearbox Diagnostic check. Or what make of scan tool wood do the job. I have been told the TCM, transmission  control module may need to be reset. I have tried my local Toyota Dealer, but they say the scanner will not read imports.

Any ideas/ help would be appreciated

To run diagnostic tests and if you have a laptop then you can use Techstream with an Mini VCI cable. This is the one I bought https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/124808047632. The suport from the seller was quite good.

I doubt there are any trim values stored in NVM which would impact your problem. If I'm right, a basic reset (of the Keep Alive Memory) can be achieved by disconnecting the battery for 15 mins.

Thanks Geralt. That's way to technical for me. I have had people plug in and run tests, but no faults were found.

Just don't won't to have a gearbox put in and find I still have the same problem.
