Dave Exmouth Posted October 16 Posted October 16 I have a 2008 AH10 Alphard. Key ignition. I had one original operating key with remote. I have left it in Turkey by accident and my Alphard is now parked outside a friends house in Dorset. I can get my smart key sent from my UK address for tomorrow alongside two generic keys that I have already had cut (and fit the ignition) I managed to programme these to open the car and close remotely the car but they won't allow the car to start. I think this is because the programming doesn't reach the second stage of communicating with the immobiliser. My question is if I have the smart key and both these half programmed cut keys in hand can I start the car? Failing this is it likely a local car key specialist with these in hand would be able to fully programme the keys so it can start? Might this not be so simple because the frequencies Jap Import remotes work on compared to the standard programming a UK specialist has?Any thoughts welcome. My best David.

Your normal (half cut) keys will need the 4D67 chip inside them. The chip will be there, hopefully the correct chip. The earlier model had a different chip. The smart keys I have do not operate the igintion immobilser. An auto locksmith should be able to program your keys provided you have a suitable master key to copy !. I have read there are manual procedures that enable a normal key to be paired with the igintion. Plenty of reading for you to do within this forum.
