Jordancavs Posted November 20 Posted November 20 Hey everyone looking for a little help my 2005 hybrid Alphard won’t start. I just bought the car a month ago. Car has plenty of battery life and when I turn the key over I hear a gentle click from the passenger side fuse box. I am wondering if it is the starter relay, or another fuse. I found one diagram online and pulled the two of the fuses I circled below. Could it be a different fuse or the starter relay? If so where would I locate the starter relay. Any help would be much appreciated.

Rojie Posted November 20 Posted November 20 2 minutes ago, Jordancavs said: Yes! I am! I am just trying to figure out the fuses you have highlighted. The 7.5A appears to be Ignition. The 10A appears to be Engine Computer, SRS. I am assuming your schematic illustration is the fuse box in the passenger side footwell. I have used the JPNZ Owners Manual for reference. I would recommend you obtain a copy. There is no fuse specifically assigned to the starter relay. Chris.ac is the Ace at wiring, and schematic diagrams. Perhaps a personal message to him would be helpful.
Jeza Posted November 21 Posted November 21 On the Hybrid there is no starter relay as such, the engine is initially started using the Hybrid motor in the gearbox. Subsequent stop/starts uses the starter generator via the serpentine belt. Check the gear lever is in park and "P" is displayed on the dash.
Montecrist0 Posted November 21 Posted November 21 Hi Jordan, when you say there is plenty of life in the battery which battery are you referring to, your problem sounds like a typical low voltage fault on the small 12v lead acid battery between the seats, suggest you check the voltage or give it a charge. These batteries soon run down if the vehicle is not used regularly.
