Peterm69uk Posted December 13, 2024 Posted December 13, 2024 Morning all, having my Vellfire converted at the moment, it was a 7 seater, now a 5 seater, do I have to inform the DVLA or register it under anything else? Cheers Pete
pcous Posted December 26, 2024 Posted December 26, 2024 Hi Pete, Our Alphard was registered by the converter under the category of Motor Caravan PLG (Private/Light Goods) as a 4-seater. Of course, this was a new registration in the UK following import. I assume this is a standard registration category, but other contributors will let you know if it's not... 1

Conversion company says it’s stays as is, an MPV as you state so all good 👍🏼
Charlie Brown Posted December 28, 2024 Posted December 28, 2024 Our Alphard is registered as 'Body type MPV', and the 'Taxation class' is PRIVATE LIGHT GOODS (PLG). I believe it was registered as this before it was actually converted to a camper van. Since conversion there has been no contact with DVLA to change it, and I further I also believe that there is no requirement from DVLA to do so. 1
SUMAT Posted December 28, 2024 Posted December 28, 2024 I was advised to inform DVLA via the blue slip (1.) on page 2 of the V5. Simple process, just enter the new number of seats and post off. Got the replacement V5 within 2 weeks.
