Forkboy Posted February 11 Posted February 11 Hi all. After watching hundreds of videos, scanning the Internet for ads, I finally got my first Alphard. Picked it up today from London. A 2013, vellfire 240x. Fresh import from japan. Am 52 years old and never had anything like this before. I smiled whilst driving all the way back to Bristol. Pulling off the motorway into services, with indicator arrows flashing in the wing mirror, had a slight giggle of excitement (I know, act my age😅) Anyway, really pleased to be part of the club. 1
Crankenstein Posted March 13 Posted March 13 I hope to join you soon, very close to picking one up..how have you found it the past month?
Forkboy Posted March 14 Author Posted March 14 Hi Tim, That is great news. I am loving my Alphard. Such a great vehicle to drive. I am sure you will find what you are looking for. If it is a new import its worth paying for a history check. The first place I was looking at was clocking them. Let us know when you find one👍
Michael Brown Posted March 15 Posted March 15 What amazes me is they all come over with low mileage. The Japanese chaps who drove them in Japan must clock up more. I did a BIMTA test on a previour Estima I bought back in 2011 and 79,000 miles had been wiped from clock. The 65,000 miles it was sold at did not look so rosy. Worth getting a BIMTA check done before you part with some money
Forkboy Posted March 17 Author Posted March 17 This is from a google search: In Japan, the average mileage driven per year by private car owners is around 6,972 kilometers (approximately 4,335 miles) Whether it is true or not, I can only guess. I have seen a few videos explaining why this is though.
Forkboy Posted March 17 Author Posted March 17 I had mine checked (before buying) and it all added up. 2013 with 47,000 miles bought a month ago (Feb 2025) 1
