Hi Philip.

We have just purchased our 2006 3 litre Toyota Alphard camper conversion. It is a rear conversion and came with a custom built mattress. Not yet tried it but looks good. You could try New Acre Leisure Limited in Honeybourne, Worcestershire. See photos.

Hi, Frank thanks for info. Will get in touch with them.kind regards Phil.

Hi Philip

We tried several things but settled on Duvalay luxury sleeping bags.  They come with their own sewn in memory foam mattresses and winter and summer quilts.  Everything rolls up like a normal sleeping bag so saves space.  Expensive but we use them for about 20 nights per year and they’re still as good as new despite 3 years of use.

Hi,Arthur thanks for that.sounds good.Kind regards Phil.

We bought a large piece of memory foam from ebay for about £30. Ours is about one inch thick, but you could get thicker if you needed it. It all rolls up with the duvet and just fits behind the seat when we put the seats up. We were tempted to cut it to fit but didn't, which turned out to be a good choice as it has a few inches spare each side which really covers the hard edges either side of the bed. We tried Duvalays but they were really bulky. This arrangement folds up much smaller.

We're using a Vango Rock & Roll self inflating mattress in ours - specifically designed for campervans - not cheap at around £150, but pretty good.

One tip if you do get one is to store it not rolled up for the winter if you have the space - storing it for long periods rolled up means the tightest section won't re-inflate fully.
