Hi.

Just recently purchased our 2006 3 litre Toyota Alphard camper conversion. Just going through a few things and came across this on the steering column. Does anyone know what it is? When pressed it does bleep!

Thanks

Who knows ?

Many Japanese owners add all sorts of accessories, mikes, switches, sensors, etc.

Most of those gizmo input / output units are left in place.

It may be a parking brake override switch, which overrides the circuit that prevents video and TV being watched whilst on the move.

Thank you, Rojie.

It is not causing me any issues so will just leave it alone. Doesn't change anything I can see when pressed, I was just inquisitive about it. Much appreciated, Frank.

As Rojie said. It's a multitude of aftermarket things.

Could be a remote trigger for dash cam.

Could be a push to talk button for voice activated satnav.

Could be a toggle for the headunit to allow dvd to play on front screen whilst car is in motion.

I’ve got one exactly like that too. No idea what it is but would be interested to know too if anyone has the same and knows what it is.
