Mandarin Posted 15 hours ago Posted 15 hours ago I would be most grateful for some general advice, we are looking at a 2008 Alphard 2.4L petrol Auto camper with 97.5k miles on the clock. It looks lovely and seems to be exactly what we want but I know nothing of these vehicles, although I have researched the forums. Any advice / guidance of what to look for and check would be most appreciated. In particular:- Its done 97.5k miles, what sort of mileage are the engines / running gear capable of and what key maintenance should have been done, ie cambelt (?), gearbox fluid change etc etc. What MPG can I expect overall, I've seen figures here ranging from 26 to 36. Will these run on normal E10 petrol, or do they need super E5. any general thoughts on them, I must say I'm pretty impressed by what I've seen. Many, many thanks in advance.

Hello Neil, Welcome to the Forum. The 4 cylinder engine has cam chains, so unlikely to need attention; are they noisy ? The E5/E10 is an ongoing debate and is covered extensively within this forum. That is quite a high mileage, for the year, so frequent use. Are you sure that it is miles, and not kilometres. Check the MOT history on DVLA to assess the level of maintenance it has enjoyed (or not). Good Luck.
