I have recently replaced my tailgate with but although the door beeps after pressing the buttons to open, it does not open or close. Any clues on how I can rectify this isssue?

Welcome to the Forum.

Did you disconnect the wiring with the door open? 

Was the battery disconnected? 

 

Disconnect battery, wait a few minutes, reconnect battery. 

Now open fully and close fully manually, from the handle of the boot only, do not touch the buttons for electrical open/close

 

This will recalibrate the ecu.

Then try the buttons.

What year is your machine?

 

Before 2008 or after ?

The battery was connected when the wiring was disconnected.

Thank you very much for your help. I did disconnect the battery , opened the tailgate manually, closed it, before I went to the buttons and it seems to be working alright now. Just need to align for perfect closure.👍
