Abbot Posted May 18 Posted May 18 Hi all I'm trying to sort out a MPH to KPH chip on an Alphard but don't have the original wiring instructions. For the chip in the photo does the yellow wire attach to the wires coming from the loom, or the wire going into the speedo? Many thanks
Picasso Posted May 18 Posted May 18 Simon where is this chip located because that looks like the Iva fog light switch the Speedo chip is behind the Speedo clock and the chip is called a ckun09 I will email you full fitting instructions tomorrow
Picasso Posted May 19 Posted May 19 Simon check this link see what I mean by this chip looking like the fog light switch https://www.autojapspares.co.uk/import-fog-light-switch-control-unit--universal-rocker-switch-for-ava-regs-34421-p.asp
Abbot Posted May 19 Author Posted May 19 Thanks Picasso. That's interesting, that chip is behind the instrument cluster and wired into the plug going into the speedo.
Wisey Posted May 19 Posted May 19 Hi Abbot, I had a problem with my speedo chip and eventually removed it, installed a GPS digital mph speed instead and reinstated the kph speedo. However, I took some photos of the wiring just in case I needed to replace the chip which I’ve attached in case useful for you.
Picasso Posted May 19 Posted May 19 Speedo chips should never have bullet connectors or wire connectors they should all be soldered
