Apple car play tablet

Hi all,

 

tried searching for this but doesn’t seem to be any posts. Picked up my 2005 alphard yesterday and having trouble figuring out how to play music through my phone (have managed to connect the Bluetooth and have a phone call).

 

I am considering getting one of those Apple car play tablet things for ease- but from what I’ve seen it looks as though I’ll struggle to connect it without an aux as the Bluetooth will only connect to the car, or my phone, but not both. Has anyone got one of these to work?

 

Alternatively any ideas how to play music through my phone? Tried Google translate on the menu options but couldn’t get anywhere.

Where there is a will, there is a way. 

 

Depends on your headunit. 

Some have dual Bluetooth, so separate connections for phone and media. 

Some have an aux input on the rear of the centre armrest storage console. 

Some you can use a Bluetooth to fm adaptor. 

 

Try this site, has lots of information on the 10 series headunit operation. 

 

Try posting an image of your headunit so others can advise better

Thanks Chris - took the plunge on getting one on Amazon so I can return if it doesn't work. I think worst case I can Bluetooth the phone to the tablet, then use the FM output - and just spend a few hours figuring out how to tune the radio in Japanese
