Hi All. I'm thinking of getting a power bank so I can go off grid for a couple of days..and want to power  500w heater occasionally and travel kettle. Does anyone gave any experience of using one? Are they any good and how long might it last? A day or 2 or not as long. Been looking at a Bluetti 1800 w. Thanks in anticipation. Ian Y

Powering an electric heater from a battery is not really a viable option. I just looked at the stats of a Bluetti 1800W, and it only has a little over 1100Whr of power, which is just over 2 hours running a 500W heater.

A diesel heater would be better for heating, especially if you are considering going off grid in winter, and a small gas stove might be simpler for boiling water.

Take a look at my blog from Sept 2023 :  'Going for all-electric leisure system for 3l 2007'
