newbury90 Posted Tuesday at 07:51 PM Posted Tuesday at 07:51 PM Hi, I picked up a 2013 (63) Golden Eye 2 Alphard earlier this year, imported from Japan, and I'm absolutely loving it! It's perfect for family road trips (kids are spoilt in the back) and for carrying my mountain bike. There's just one little niggle which I have not been able to find any information on, there is a speed warning at 60 mph. It only beeps a few times as I pass 60, and then it stops. But if my speed keeps nudging just above and below 60 on the motorway, it triggers the beeps again and again. Definitely more of an annoyance than a problem, but it gets a bit repetitive! I had the original Japanese stereo swapped for an aftermarket Android player, and I've tried every b0utton I can find on the dash, but no luck turning this off. I still have the original stereo, and I'm wondering if the speed warning is only controlled through the original unit. Has anyone else run into this? Is it an aftermarket add-on or something tied to the OEM stereo? Thanks, Nick
Chris.ac Posted Tuesday at 09:00 PM Posted Tuesday at 09:00 PM Not seen this, makes sense because the speed limit in Japan is 60. Maybe it is configurable via the obd2 port using techstream
newbury90 Posted Wednesday at 08:27 AM Author Posted Wednesday at 08:27 AM I'll dig out the stereo to have a look this weekend. I did try techstream a few months back and couldn't find anything related when I looked through the options.
Chris.ac Posted Thursday at 09:26 AM Posted Thursday at 09:26 AM Could you take photo of your dash? If it the newer one that has a display with a navigation menu?
