I’m a new Vellfire owner and just had my first year. I love it and have fathomed out where to get most maintenance done BUT my big concern is the availability of a front windscreen should I ever need to replace. Everything I read suggests they are hard to get with a long lead time. Any suggestions for supply?

Thanks Brian

Hi

Had to replace my screen here in Oz there was none available so had to source one direct from Toyota Japan lead time was 3 months fortunately crack wasn’t to bad so still able to drive no MOT to worry about here they don’t have them you can run a car for ever without any checks.

only problem I had was when screen fitted rain sensing wipers sensor wasn’t fitted correctly but was quickly sorted couldn’t find out how much it cost insurance but it didn’t cost me anything so was happy.

As there are probably more Alphards & velfires in the UK they might carry stock there.

cheers

Alan

Hi Brian

I had the misfortune of having a lorry flick a stone at my Alphie on the M6 in January this year.  Insurance covered the replacement and the work was done on my drive within a week of me reporting the damage.

Fitter said that there was generally no problem with the supply of  ‘bog standard’ screens but that there may be delays where a screen has sensors.  These screens have to be fitted in company workshops and the nearest workshops to me in Wirral were Chester (18 miles) or Preston (40 miles).
