Perhaps this is another stupid question from me .

Whenever my ignition is turned on I can hear what sounds like a small fan running, even if the engine is not running.

It comes on before the engine starts and turns itself off about 5 seconds after the key is removed from the ignition

It is not as loud as the fan that I hear when operating the heater of cold air blower .

I don't know what it is or how to turn it off.

Any ideas ?

thanks

Thanks for that, it probably is them.

Seems strange it cant be turned off when not in use.

I've been hearing something similar recently. It comes on when I start the engine and stops once I start driving at speed. Comes on again when I'm slowing down. No idea what it is.
