I am planning to spend a year touring Europe with my cocker spaniel.

I have identified the Alphard as being very suitable for this trip.

But I am undecided between the high top or the pop-up.

I understand the benefits of the pop-up regarding vehicle height, driving experience, and ventilation.

And that the high top gives more head space, storage, and warmth.

My journey will begin and end in January / December.

Your experienced opinions would be much appreciated.

Thanks,

David

Hello David,

Welcome to the Forum.

Hi. I have an Alphard pop up and can only say good things. Heat and comfort are rarely a problem in an Alphard - even in winter, it is cosy and well insulated. The lower-profile of the pop up when driving is a benefit in winter when it can be windy and icy - much better handling. I don't have the same amount of experience with a high top but I would say you will be happy with an Alphard pop-up camper in any season. It's a winner.
